Here’s what you get:

  • First of all, we have easy to understand prices – $199 for any trip up to 7 days (including travel days) and only $10 per day for every day over 7.  Example: 10 days = $229.  If you’re staying for more than a week but will be spending most of your time in only a couple of locations we can take that into our pricing considerations.
  • A Dedicated Web Page – password protected. You’ll have your own page, right here on Rooms With Great Views, BUT it will have it’s own unique address (something like …./jones-7-city-tour/) and a password of your choosing.  No one else will have access to it unless you give them permission (although you can share it with whomever you want).  So you’ll be able to access all of your maps, hotels, restaurants, everything from wherever you are.  Nothing to lose, always online and ready for you, set up just like the Sample Page.
  • Airline schedules and Fare comparisons.  You tell us where you want to go, and when you want to leave and return, and we’ll research the airlines for you.
  • Documentation.  We’ll tell you if you need a passport, visa, etc.  And how to get them.  Many countries require that your passport have at least 6 months left on it.  We’ll let you know if your trip requires it.  And you’ll need to know what’s required if you are crossing borders during your journey as well.

  • Immunization.  You’ll need to know if you need shots (and when to get them).
  • A personalized route map.  It will show your trip from point to point.  Side trips included.  AND we’ll include a separate map for each major stop along your journey.  A typical map will show the location of your hotel, recommended attractions, restaurants near both the hotel and attractions, pertinent metro stops, etc.

  • Hotel suggestions, based on your price and comfort category.  Four hotel suggestions per overnight stop.  We even take into consideration the distance to the closest metro station.  Thinking about going without reservations and just “playing it by ear”?  We’ll give you the pros and cons of doing that. Once you’ve reserved a hotel, we’ll take the other hotel suggestions off your map.

  • Transportation advice.  Are you using public transportation?  We’ll tell you the fares and link you to schedules and maps for trains, buses and metros.  Even the locations of the stations. We’ll tell you what you should pay for a taxi, and if some taxis are safer than others. If you’re driving, we’ll research rental cars and hook you up with great online maps and tell you which hard copy maps are best for where you’re going (and how much they cost).  We’ll point you to information about reading the road signs and will pass on any tips (or warnings) we find about driving in your chosen destination.
  • Activities.  Tell uWe do the white water on the new river. s what you want to do and see and we’ll try to provide the links for those activities.

  • Currency.  We’ll tell you what currency they use, the exchange rate, how much you should take with you when you leave home, and we’ll show you how to locate local ATM machines (with advice about using your card – will it work where you’re going? – maybe not).
  • Weather.  What are the average high and low temperatures (and rainfall) for the days you’re going to be there.
  • Health and Safety.  We’ll let you know if there are any CDC or USA State Department warnings or alerts (and anything else we find).
  • Language.  We’ll give you tips on which words and phrases would be helpful to learn.
  • Culture.  There may be some important cultural aspects that you need to know – about modesty, religion, personal space, etc.  We’ll let you know.
  • Bars, Clubs, Restaurants, Pubs, Cafes.  Tell us your eating preferences and we’ll provide links to sites that rate the restaurants in your area.  We’ll help you find eateries near your hotel.  We’ll even search vegetarian restaurants for you.
  • Little things – like electricity.  We’ll tell you if you need a converter.   What’s the best way to call home?  Should you take a laptop?  Will you need a guide?
  • Our own “Travel Tips”.  How to travel light.  How to get the most out of your trip.  How to lessen the effects of jet lag.  How to stay safe (and keep your valuables safe).  Too little planning vs. over planning.
  • And more.

Is it worth it?  Have you ever spent hours looking for a hotel room?  Wouldn’t you like to have your evening meal close enough to the hotel that you could walk back?  See for yourself.   Here is a shortened  EXAMPLE OF A TRIP PLAN (remember, it’s shortened considerably – just one city from a multi-city trip).   You’re spending a lot of money on this trip.  What is it worth to make sure you don’t waste any of your time?  You can also see our Frequently Asked Questions. Everything but the tickets.  Bon voyage.
