“We were there in late November at the end of season and had the whole establishment to ourselves so the tranquility as we watched the sun set from our balcony was amazing. It is one of the few hotels to stay open through winter.”

“Astra Apartments has a great location, in the center of the crecent-shaped island of Santorini.  While the area may not be as popular as Ia (where most of the tourists go to watch sunsets), our view of the ancient caldera was spectacular.  Every evening we sat and watched the amazing sunsets. Hiking to the main village (Old Thira) takes about 20-30mins,  but is worth it. Ia is a good day hike (to and from). We went at the end of  August, and the weather was nothing short of amazing.  I would go back in a flash, if given the chance.  Please check out my flickr gallery for more pictures of the area:  http://www.flickr.com/photos/pauljsolomon/sets/72157601673164083/
