“There are two Four Seasons hotels in Cairo. The one at Nile Plaza is superior as it offers stunning views of the Nile, just across the street. The hotel is an oasis of perfection amidst a somewhat dusty, smoky, frenetic city.”

The view from an eighth floor, river side room at the Sonesta St. George Hotel - Luxor.
Submitted by: Christopher Boffoli. (Photo may not be copied or used in any way without Christopher’s permission).
“My stay at the St. George Sonesta was short, just one night, but it certainly made an impression with its breathtaking sunset views over the Nile River. I awoke at dawn when a call to prayer blasted out of every mosque in Luxor. I didn’t mind as I needed to get up so that I could make the boat that would take me across the Nile to go hot air ballooning over the Valley of Kings. The sun was a rising ball of fire as we lifted off from a sugar cane field for an hour flight over the temples of Thebes and the small villages below. As if that experience weren’t enough, later in the day I descended into the tomb of Tutankhamun. The Sonesta St. George was a great base from which to explore.”
