“This ancient house, built mid-1400s, has only two rooms available. Winston Churchill, royal dynasties and illustrious guests loved to stay in this medieval mansion. Belgium’s royal couple Albert and Paola enjoyed their honeymoon at Nuit Blanche. The view from my room, the gothic Pasionaria, looks across the private garden, the canal and upon the church of Our Lady and the Gruuthuse palace, reached via the attached romantic Pont Boniface, or ‘Lover’s Bridge.’ To sleep here is to sink deep back into history of this best preserved medieval town in all of Europe.

The photo is a multiple exposure, high dynamic range image and one of my favorites of the trip.”
