It was tough choosing the right photo for this!

It was tough choosing just the right photo for this!

We’ve had our fair share of rooms with great views .

For one thing, we’ve spent many a night in a tent on the Appalachian Trail, with views of dense forests and lush mountains.

Once we rented a houseboat in the Florida Keys, where we watched pelicans dive for their supper.

And for the week we spent in Paris, our room looked across the Seine to Notre Dame.

This year we had a room in Ollantaytambo Peru that had a view of the ruins there (and if you looked down from the window, you could see the morning street life in that interesting little village).

Two years ago, we sat on our cruise ship balcony and watched flying fish skimming across the water (in our book, that counts as a room with a great view).

The photo in the header above was taken from our room on Lago di Como in nothern Italy.

And near San Andreas in California, we stayed in a B&B that was waaay off the beaten track. We spent the evening in the hot tub out on the deck, with a bottle of champagne and all the lights turned off, marveling at just how very many stars there were. You miss the stars when you spend much of your time in the city.

Once we couldn’t sleep because of the noise of the surf pounding the sea wall just below our balcony on Maui.

So many great memories of the places (and the rooms) we’ve visited. In Vancouver we had a view of the entire city. It was beautiful during the day – at night it was stunning.

In San Miguel de Allende Mexico, our balcony was huge and the city view was lovely.

A cabin in Yosemite.

So many wonderful places.

But there are still so very many wonderful views we haven’t seen. There’s a hotel in the Florida Keys that you can only get to with scuba gear. That room has to have a great view.

And the next time we’re in Paris, I want to see the Eiffel Tower from our window.

Send us a photo of that great view you had on your wonderful trip. We’d love to see it…. and share it with the world.

We hope you enjoy our website. It’s a labor of love. And we’d love to hear your opinion, advice, memories…. Enjoy.
